I was happy to see Emily Larson announce her campaign for mayor of Duluth.
I have lived, worked and volunteered in this community for more than 45 years and am confident Larson will do an excellent job as mayor. With her experience in the nonprofit sector, as a community organizer, and a small-business owner, she has the skills and passion to lead this city into its next phase.
Her appreciation for community and love for this city are clear. That appreciation has manifested itself in many ways with her work for the library and the parks and her leadership in economic development in the Maurices corporate tower. Her energy is undeniable. And her constant optimism, coupled with her commitment to creating the best community she can, promises great results for all of us.
She is as experienced in business and community development as many of our previous mayors. Our city is on a roll, and that roll can only get better with Emily Larson as mayor.
