Larson Campaign | May 7th, 2015 | Campaign News

Yvonne Prettner Solon deserves congratulations and thanks for her many years of public service in Duluth and in Minnesota. She served on the Duluth City Council, in the Minnesota Senate and as lieutenant governor. She has been a strong advocate for the community as a whole.

On a personal level, I always appreciated her prompt response to my queries and her immediate ability to direct me to needed information. Having talked with a wide cross section of Duluthians last year, I know that a vast majority hold her in high esteem.

At the same time, I am pleased Prettner Solon will not be retiring totally from public life (“Prettner Solon won’t run for mayor, gets behind Larson,” April 29). Her endorsement of Emily Larson for the mayor’s position was a wise choice; Larson is an excellent candidate, and she will be an excellent mayor. I am particularly happy Prettner Solon has agreed to serve as an advisor during Larson’s campaign and to her administration if elected. I know Prettner Solon will offer sound, positive ideas as Larson helps Duluth move forward so that it works for all Duluthians.
